Food For Thought
Sunday, August 30, 2009

Having never written a consecutive blog series before, I’ve been eager to try. So each day this week, I’ll be featuring a food-related article in the hope that sharing these nuggets may inform, inspire, incite, or at least interest you as much as they have me.
I’ll post the first in the series tomorrow, but until then please browse through some of our past food-related blog entrées.
And there’s more...
To commemorate this blog series, I’ll be doing a giveaway of two of my favorite food-related books. Simply leave a comment on any blog post here on 2Dolphins this week to enter the random drawing. On Saturday, I’ll select the names at random and promptly ship the books to the two lucky winners!
Articles in this Food For Thought series:
- The Omnivore’s Dilemma
- Smorgasbord
- Fast Food Nation
- Kid’s Cuisine
- Loco For Locavore
- Wrapup (Book winners announced!)

I have been using more organic fruits and vegetables. They seem to last longer. I love food so I will be reading along.

Woo hoo can't wait, I've been "trying" to balance a healthier eating pattern instead of fast food everyday...seems my biggest hurdle is working 9-10 hours a day and still having energy to make a healthy dinner when I get home. Looking forward to your series :)!
LOVE food-related blog entries!! We eat relatively halthy and organic (as much as possible) and we go the extra mile to make sure the boys lunches for school or extra nutritious and fun to eat. Can't wait to see what you have to tell us!!!
Cool idea to add a contest with your post series. I've been eating better and exercising lately too. I bought a treadmill and I actually use it and I'm eating much better.
I've almost completely eliminated red meat from my diet, drink water all day long and we just started buying much of our food from local farmers. I've lost twelve pounds in two weeks and feel better already. I'm going to enjoy your food-related series.
BTW, I'm getting ready to order the book 'The End of Overeating' by David Kessler
A Theme Week sounds fun!
We haven't done all that well with incorporating the "be more active" part of this, but we are taking much more care about the ingredients of stuff we buy at the grocery store and are making more efforts to prepare meals at home.
Congrats on the 12 lbs. loss, Brian D.!
Just as a note, finally watched "Food Inc." the movie... it's on Netflix Watch Instantly. Sums up a lot of ideas in these food awareness books.
